Copes, Gray Suspended Three Games
November 7, 2012 · 1 Comments
Sophomores Erik Copes and Vaughn Gray have been suspended for the Patriots first three regular–season games as a result of student-athlete conduct violations. Their suspension will begin this Friday with the Patriots’ much-anticipated home-opener against Virginia and will conclude in the opening game of the Paradise Jam on Nov. 16.
Copes was expected to start at center this season. He averaged 3.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game as a freshman, but he contributed 13 points and two rebounds in the Patriots’ exhibition game against Bowie State. Gray, who appeared in all but one game last season, was likely slated to play a major role off the bench for Paul Hewitt this season. Though they are suspended, both players will be allowed to practice with the team throughout their suspension. They will not dress for games.
Copes and Gray will return to action in the second game of a three-game tournament in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
“Oh, isn’t 2 just such a great age” and I wanted to smack her in the head. It’s not a great age for me (or him) and being rmeinded how fun and great a regular 2 year olds life is was not what I needed. I vented at friends about it, how stupid this woman was for saying such a thing, but they pulled me in line and rmeinded me that it was not said to offend.. just a part of conversation but one that I am sensitive to. I think the same for you, you are sensitive to having to tell people… whether for yourself, for Chop or so as not to upset the listener… but that doesn’t make it wrong or stupid xxxxxx
